“Shocking” News: A Japanese Idol is Racist Against Koreans?

Reina Tanaka, Eri Kamei, and Sayumi Michishige on a typical break from rehearsal.

It’s pretty common and obvious to know that Asians hate each other. Chinese hate Koreans and Japanese. Japanese hates Koreans and Chinese. Koreans hate everyone who isn’t them.

So why was anyone surprised to see that Reina Tanaka, Eri Kamei, and Sayumi Michishige, of Morning Musume. fame, were caught being racist? The above picture was posted on Reina’s blog (which is admirable after her scandal of breathing the same air as another man) with the comments as they slanted their eyes, “Who’s this? A Korean person.”

Somehow, in Asia, they don’t seem to really realize that each race may have more slanted eyes than the next. The Japanese seem to think this trait is only applicable to the Chinese and Korean. However, the Koreans think the same way about Japanese and  Chinese.

Of course we all know the truth – they all have fucking slanted eyes. But thanks to a wonderful thing called circle lens, and of course plastic surgery, they seem to think that only a “lower” race would have slanted eyes.

Quick to damage control, Up Front Agency (the agency behind Morning Musume.) immediately issued an apology before the Korean netizens could change out of their old adult diapers. Believe me when I say that Up Front Agency really are up front about their damage control.

From dating older, married men to saying, “I think wotas (the male equivalent of fangirl in Japan) are creepy as fuck” and even nominating Hitler as a “great man”, they are pretty up front with turning around and saying, “LOL I’M JUST MESSING WITH YA’LL. I don’t mean that!” Or to even out right firing the person in question.

However, since Reina is their current commodity (one of the lead singers in Morning Musume., having her own puzzle video game, her own anime — much more successful and less of a bitch than Koharu Kusumi) , they just made her and the other girls apologize.

Surprisingly enough, the Korean netizens were accepting of the girls’ half-assed and possibly non-sincere apology and chalked it up as, “They’re just bored! It’s totally fine to make fun of us!”

That’s probably because Girls’ Generation, KARA, and even 4Minute are dominating the charts on the Oricon, the Japanese music charts. And the Korean netizens are probably just laughing at them for their feeble attempts to get attention.

But, remember Beefcakes, the joke will always be on them.

This is like my new favourite article, and it’s the first one I’ve read! God, very witty and very well written! Can’t wait to read more! 😉

This is really the first time I’ve heard of Japanese Idol’s POV about Korean Idols, of course I know about Japanese-Korean-Chinese-everyone racism, but it’s interesting to see it from this perspective.

You’re a bloody ignorant retard! The asians hate each other? Why do chinese/.korean/japanese websites share each others music? Why do koreans sing in chinese once in a while? Catch a wake up! And in regards to our eyes- not all of us have really slanted eyes! Im chinese and was born with big eyes and i dont use those contacts and anyway, how do contacts fix your eye shape?? singers like those two have something called plastic surgery done. But hey, americans have it done too so who cares. Its just stuck up girls like those to who hate on other asians

No, the writer is not. Every “rule” has exceptions, but at my school (in CANADA), only the whitewashed asians mingle. Otherwise, Korean immigrants stick with Koreans, Japanese immigrants stick with Japanese and hate on oh who am I kidding, our school has no Japanese immigrants TROLOLOL and Chinese immigrants stick with Chinese. It’s no joke.

You’re the retard. You are obviously ignorant of the situation there. Japan is hated by all of East Asia because of things they have done during past wars as well as their attitudes today. They culturally destroyed many countries, experimented on Korean, Chinese, Russian and American children during WW2, massacred civilians and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Their education leaves out their many crimes, so the current generation thinks that they are faultless and everybody hates them for no good reasons. The hate they show for other countries as well as their superior, arrogant attitudes to foreigners have made them vastly unpopular. Japan also wants to conquer everything they can, which is also why Korea and China hate them–Japan is stealing Korean and Chinese land and calling it theirs just to extend their borderline.

I wish the Hiroshima bomb just destroyed all of them. Then Malaysia wouldn’t have to put up with their shit.

Maybe because those “Asian websites” are run and designed by non-Asians”?

This makes no sense at all. Most East Asians have slanted eyes. Its like most whites have big pointy noses. Anyway, Japanese love Kpop and dramas. They just made a fool of themselves.

One person does not a people make… These antics were done by some famous people doing an extremely stupid thing at the wrong time… I don’t know how long they have been that crazy and I don’t care… But I don’t think that they hold the sentiments of their people in their hands… Every race has their own rejects… Don’t hate…

YOU are being racist now. “Asian race superiority for just $14 plus shipping”, this is really rude. Westerners do plastic surgery and wear lenses and stuff all the time, and you say that… Her entry blog was simply a joke, and now you and the rest of the korean’s fans are taking too serious and being rude with japanese people.

I am korean and i know.Koreans are shy and scared to help foregniers so they just walk away. They will get ashamed if they speak wrong. Somepeople are racist and some are not. About the staring, maybe they are surprised or old people never seen black people and they look scary and have some strong looking so they are scared and they dont want to get beaten up. Thats why they dont help them. Sometimes koreans get culture shock too

“Japanese hate Koreans and Chinese”, I beg to differ. I have a very close friend in Japan, I’m Korean and she’s Japanese. She says that almost everyone she knows and met likes/loves Koreans/Korean music and dramas. “Koreans hate everyone who isn’t them”, that’s a bit much. I’ve met so many Koreans who were open to learning about other cultures and meeting new people. Okay, a lot of Koreans are a bit too proud to be Korean but, have you ever seen a race where at least a handful of people weren’t cocky. Like how Whites are so proud of their American heritage and hate others who aren’t -coughs- nativist attitudes. It’s stereotypes, don’t lump everyone together.
Besides, the whole slanty eyed stereotype used to be directed at Asians in general. Now it’s happening in between Asian races? What a joke.

are you kidding? Japan hates us. The anti-Korean sentiment in Japan is so strong that they ask Koreans living there to move out. My cousin is half Korean and half Japanese, and even though he should take his Korean father’s last name, he has to take his Japanese mother’s last name so people won’t know that he’s Korean. It’s a little too obvious that Korea is on top–K-Pop drowns out their little gay/lesbian groups and K-Dramas is all they watch, but they are jealous. Japanese youth doesn’t know a thing about the horrors that they have caused, like human experimentation on Korean and Chinese children and the conquering and cultural oppression of other countries, so when China won’t forgive them for their meaningless massacres and Korea hates them for destroying their culture, they call us liars and pricks.

Get your facts right. Your “friend” in Japan is either on crack or lives in a cave to say that Japan likes Korea.

      To get things straight:

China LOATHES Japan (and rightfully so). They are okay with Koreans.

      Korea hates Japan, dislikes China.

      Japan hates everyone. Period.

If you are Korean like you say you are, then you should have known this already.

Is pathetic to say japan hate everyone…You talk like koreans are holly people, and not racist at all.
when koreans are the double of racist than japanese can be.

Okay seriously, stop acting like babies. Not every white like black people, not every black americain like black afrains. Just like not every indains love parkistains.
Just because you were born with big eyes doesn’t mean, korean, jap’s, chinese, all were born with the same. Sames goes for being friends.

Please don’t tell me you think all japs like kos, and all chinese just odores the others.
please, i love koreans because of jyj jaejoong, but because I’m black, I’m scared of how he would treat me.
That’s why i wish i was a korean, or the other two, as long as i was sure he wouldn’t treat me bad if he saw me.
But i also love, adore indians.
this article, as far as i see it is telling the truth.
Just because you’re open minded doesn’t mean everyone is, i love being a haittia

I think people really took that picture and joke too serious ==; IT WASN’T RACIST! It was just a joke that might have offended and they apologized all 3 and said they didn’t know so too.. I think almost everyone have done such a face to joke, in my country there’s even a song which you make such eyes and stuff… The smallest joke were they didn’t think about what could happen, has turned in just a bad article, people who hate them for this, go die? Actually, THIS article is racist! Not all people hate each other and same for Korea, they really don’t hate anyone who isn’t Korean. Maybe some are but most of them aren’t! So STFU! .___.” And seriously, you can’t blame a whole country for a few people doing bad things! If your own country killed 1000 people randomly in a legal condition, and people suddenly hate the whole country. What would you say? I think you would say this: “I didn’t do that, those were other people and I don’t have anything to do with it so you can’t hate me for that!” Or something similar to that. Really people don’t even think if they comment or post something do they? Like they believe everything and think of the worse, hating a whole country and everyone for a few people who messed up a lot. So again, STFU! .___.”
