If you’re part of the SHINee World, you might want to watch your head. Apparently SHINee’s manager, unlike Super Junior and TVXQ’s managers, is learning that fangirls who stand too close to their commodity might decide to try to get closer to their idols by either creepy and bloody letters, help another fan commit suicide, perform boycotts, or even just regular old stalking should be taken out while the problem’s still fresh.
Apparently, back in SHINee’s “Juliette” days, this fan was so astonished at the sight of a real live Donkey Kong, Jonghyun, that she didn’t realize that she was in SHINee Manager’s way. She learned quickly not to step in front of him and that SHINee wouldn’t do anything to help. Why would they? Some can argue that Taemin looked like he gave a shit. Doubt it. He probably was worried more about his shoes being ruined by this girl’s tears. He’s still young – he’ll learn that fan tears won’t ruin it. Instead, it’ll make them last longer.
If anything, SHINee learned from Super Junior – showing any leeway with fans will cause fans to go apeshit and go on a killing spree. And who knows? Maybe this isn’t the first time SHINee Manager has let SHINee World know he will not tolerate their bullshit. He may have just didn’t realize the camera was running when it happened.
However, it was reported that recently, CN Blue’s manager laid the smack down on fans as well. Wait, CN Blue have fans that deserve a beating? That’s news to me but apparently it’s not important for its own entry here on Korean Beef.
In any case, what I would like to know is why now? Why is it important to know that SHINee Manager has been beating fans?
The fan herself has posted on the internet (like we care about her thoughts) saying, “I posted on the fan homepage that I was hit by the manager, but the management (SM Entertainment) dismissed it as a rumor and deleted my post.”
Meanwhile, CN Blue’s music label, FMC Music, have said they’re taking a stand against violent managers and that violence should not be used in any situation. Well, one would agree if we were in happy, sunshine land – but we’re not. Although, this may or may not be a declaration of war, ironically enough, to SM Entertainment to do something about SHINee Manager.
Cornered by the media and netizens, SM Entertainment released a statement via Star News: “This clip of SHINee must have been during August of last year when they were in the midst of transferring schedule to the next schedule.” In addition they added, “We are deeply sorry to all the fans about such a horrible act occurring.” They revealed their apology saying, “The managers and also the staff member will work harder so that such incident will not occur again. Once again, we are deeply sorry.”
To sum it up: We’re sorry he got caught. We promise to keep doing it behind the scenes. Fans, be fucking aware.

The amount of stress levels that SHINee has to put up with is insane. They were just doing their jobs. They have to ignore it, or it’ll affect the story and probably make it worse.

In my opinion, their manager had no right to hit that fan down then shove her away from Jonghyun, but this isn’t SHINee’s fault, it’s their manager’s fault.
I know this was a long time ago, but why are you yelling at SHINee? They didn’t do a thing against that girl. They’re just trying to get to where they’re going, unscathed! Put yourself in their shoes. Yes, they’re super famous, but they’re used to this. Everywhere they go, they’re surrounded by crazed fans who want to get close to them. They don’t know these girls, and these girls don’t know them…and if they’re like normal people, they just want to get to where they’re going. And people saying SHINee should have done something– again, think about it. If you were frequently surrounded by hundreds of people you didn’t know, who were all screaming their heads off at you, after a while, you would get tired of it, get used to it, and learn to ignore it. Cuz really, you’re just doing your job. And thousands of screaming fans is something that comes with their job. They’re not ignoring what happened cuz they’re jerks, they’re ignoring it cuz that’s what they have to do, to stay sane.
Their manager didn’t have to be so violent, true, but SHINee themselves did nothing wrong here.

Okay, if someone was trying to get all up in your space and was knocked away, would you try to defend them? What if some old pervert man came up to you and tried to touch you and got shoved away by someone else, would you defend him? The manager had a logical reason to be somewhat offensive of the girl. He’s the manager. She’s the crazy stalker. It’s obvious they’re not going to get along. The girl was invading personal space and (possibly) sexually harassing which is a crime. No, he didn’t just slap that girl for no reason nor did he act like he could ‘do anything he wants’. He had some sort of reason to act upon the way he did.

Uh. He did act professionally for about 5 minutes before he snapped and just pushed her away. If you research a little on the topic, you’ll find out that he actually tried to reason with her and strictly asked to leave. He tried calling for security but there was no one around so he just pushed her away out of what I suppose was impulse.

This is what happened:
This happened in 2009, August 8th. It was a saturday in which Shinee was flying over to Jeju island for an event. When they arrived at the airport, there were countless numbers of privacy fans (Koreans call them “privacy fans” because they stalk them everywhere, even to their house), so the expressions on the Shinee members’ faces were dark and tired from the beginning. they had their heads down and was going up an escalator when a fan approached Shinee and started to touch/slap any members she could touch. This angered and annoyed the Shinee members more, and at this point the manager only repeatedly said “move” and tried to keep walking. But the fan didn’t listen to him and kept grabbing on the members, and at this point the manager slightly pushed her away, but she still did not move away. The fed up manager finally exploded and yelled “didn’t i tell you to move?” and swung his hand, which unfortunately hit the fan girl straight in the head. This completely caught Taemin offguard and I was even able to hear Minho’s gasp. -This is from Shinee’s Korean fan cafe.
Serves her right for kissing Jonghyun. I don’t care if he’s an idol or not, you do not go up to somebody you’ve never talked to and kiss them.

SM Entertainment… I stopped following their artistes a long time ago. I think something is wrong with that company ~ and their celebs seem tend to be twisted as well. Don’t know if it’s got something with imposed fear or abuses of any kind. I think this incident really is a part of some bigger problem behind the scene. I lost respect for Shinee kinda the same time too. They’re just too softy to even defend themselves, let alone their fans. Like, they don’t know how to stand up for themselves. Shinee should take advantage of their star status to bargain freedom of speech and decisions on some issues like this one. Shinee, maybe you think you’ll be nothing without your manager or company so you’re reluctant to do anything to help your fan or to reprimand the manager. But really, you’re nothing without fans. Dont’ be afraid to stand up for yourselves or your fan because life can become difficult at any given time. It’s a given. If you try to avoid the difficulties now, it’ll come back to haunt you some other time because difficulties never really go away until they’re resolved. the truth is without you and your fans, the company will lose a significant monetary advantage right now. I really have great respect for JYJ. They stood up against SM Entertainment and spoke for themselves. It might had gotten a little rough for them thereon, but I guess they’re way happier than before.

A manager works to protect their group from harm as well as actually manage them. The manager would have seen a fan too close to SHINee. She does not personally know these men and granted SHINee are in the public eye but they have rights also. Would you like to be touched by random, crazed girls who are screaming? I think not. The manager did not ‘beat the shit out of her’ as some people are accusing however, I do agree that given the situation, he used excessive force on the first impact. However, look into the situation. The manager attempted to reason with the girl first, asking her to move out of the way and when she didn’t… he acted to protect the SHINee members. SHINee themselves have been blamed in this article for not acting in the defense of their fan… that is unfair blame. They experience these situations frequently and please explain to me why you would defend someone who has approached you in an uninvited and unwanted manner and acted without your consent. This is not SHINee’s fault. The girl acted in a way she shouldn’t have however, I don’t believe she should have been smacked away with such force – a gentler shove would have been more appropriate when considering the size comparison between the manager and girl.
